The Court is set high above the lovely coastal town of Paignton. The Home enjoys beautiful sea views of the area surrounding Torquay and Brixham.
The town centre is just 500 yards away and there are bus stops nearby for travel further afield. This newly extended Home is elegantly and comfortably furnished throughout. Most bedrooms have lovely sea views. All are fully furnished, spacious and equipped to a high standard, most having the benefit of en-suite facilities. Residents are encouraged to bring with them their own favourite furniture, paintings and mementos to make their rooms as homely as possible.
The five lounges also have sea views, are comfortably furnished and some are air conditioned. There is also a spacious garden room and paved garden extending from the new building for the residents and their visitors.
The Court Registered Manager
The Court is the home of individuals who are all unique, so care will be designed, delivered, then evaluated to make sure each resident is enabled and esteemed as someone who feels they are special. The Court is a Home in the community, so a principal aim is to maintain, renew and make valid links for the residents with relatives, friends, neighbours and, where feasible, to make ones with new people.
There will be no discrimination on the basis of gender, creed, race, age or diagnosis. Relating to every resident as an equal will mean The Court is a Home not an institution.
The rationale that informs these policies confirms to certain and constant standards, but this thinking is changed in the light of experience, so there is a continuous need to review our style and method of caring during the evolution of the Home. Since The Court is unlike any other Home, its policies will both result from and direct what happens here - they cannot be derived from stereotypes or applied, unmodified, elsewhere.
