Safety In Our Premises.
As a responsible care provider we aim to undertake effective management of our facilities and environment.
We have checks and systems in place to ensure we protect people from harm and provide as safe a service as we possibly can.
Dear Service User
I would personally like to warmly welcome you to your care home, should you have chosen either nursing care, or supported living, I am confident our Care Managers and their team will do all in their power to make your stay as comfortable, supportive and safe as possible. In addition to our care team working hard to achieve this, our Housekeeping, Maintenance and Catering staff are also here to help and support you where possible and will be delighted to attend to any specific needs you may have. Please just ask your nominated career or support worker to contact the relevant department.
As a responsible care provider we aim to undertake effective management of our facilities environment. We have checks and systems in place to ensure we protect people from harm and provide as safe a service and environment as we possibly can. We encourage service users, residents and family to personalise their own rooms; however we do seek your cooperation and would ask that prior to bringing in any furniture or appliance in to the home; you seek the Managers authorisation and if necessary, he or she can then arrange to have any item safely installed and any ongoing maintenance required programmed in.
We respectfully request that all electrical equipment prior to its first use is checked by our maintenance team who will provide a Portable Appliance Test (PAT) and will label your electrical appliance. Additional personal electrical goods may be restricted to safely operate within the total rooms’ energy consumption capacity of 3000w to prevent unnecessary circuit breaker operation.
Personal furniture brought into the home or accommodation such as wardrobes, chest of draws, mirrors etc are required to be in good safe condition and fixed securely to the wall for safety purposes. The homes maintenance team will be happy to conduct installation to ensure screws are securely fixed into the concrete wall, and where necessary the point where it attaches to the wardrobe is reinforced with wood if necessary.
Once electrical items are commissioned or furniture fixed in place, should you require the item moved; then please request the assistance of the maintenance team. No responsibility can be accepted for self fitting or installation of furniture or equipment that has not been certified and assessed by us.
It may be necessary in the course of our care of you or a relative to move, remove or secure items that pose a health & safety risk to our residents, staff or others. Please inform the duty Manager of any perceived risk, fault or failure you may note in your room so that we can attend to this without delay.
Nearly finished, just one other point; to help our approach to infection control, please use the hand Sanitiser Foam provided when entering and leaving the building and please do advise our staff if you are suffering from any cold, flu or infection that may pose a risk or spread to others using our service.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Yours Sincerely,
Stephen Crisp RGN
