Congratulation goes out to Laura and Alison our senior carers from The Leonard Elms Nursing Home who have now completed and passed the Stirling University Modules in "Best Practice in Dementia Care" Facilitated by The Leonard Elms Dementia Lead Nurse Ed Bliss.
Ed a trained facilitator of Stirling University has specialised in dementia, educating staff on approved modules on the condition, care planning, mental health and mental capacity and other approaches to care in dementia.
Ed argues that equipping senior care staff close to the residents and family with in depth knowledge and building on their current experience improves our delivery of care in a collaborative, person centered approach supporting not only the resident but their loved ones around them who are involved in the journey.
